Steve Campana, professor in fish biology will describe,
Dinosaur Hunting in Greenland.
Although little explored, some parts of eastern Greenland have yielded world-class dinosaur fossils. In conjunction with a leading dinosaur expert, several biologists with no prior dinosaur experience launched a small "bucket list" expedition to search for fossils on an unexplored mountaintop in Greenland. Our amazing good luck was chronicled in a short video capturing the stunning scenery of the area, the logistical challenges of working in such a harsh environment, a world-class find of dinosaur footprints, and a few hardy plants that manage to survive the environment.
NOTE the lecture will be in room 132.
